Tara studied English Literature, Classical Languages (Latin), and Theater at the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC. She is a published poet, blogger, book reviewer, playwright, and photographer. Tara is also an accomplished Freelance Editor and former Assistant to a west coast Literary Agent.
Tara wrote her first poem at age 9 and her first novel - a murder mystery - at age 11, which was subsequently rejected by Stephen King's publisher as they were not yet ready to publish gore and mayhem from such a young voice. She has attended numerous writer conferences and is a 9-time NaNoWriMo champion. She has been a member of the Dramatists Guild of America, the Pacific Northwest Writers Association, the Horror Writers Association, and the Poetry Society of America.
Tara's heroes include her late mother, big brother, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Emily Dickinson, Kate Chopin, and Maya Angelou.
